19 years after taking this photo of a jaguar near the mouth of the Rio Claro in Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica, I returned with my son. Working from memory, I tried to place him in the same spot and recreate an image that is forever burned into my psyche. This may or may not be the same tree (vegetation changes fast in the tropics!), but in any case it is interesting to see how similar the two photos are. Water level (rainy vs. dry season) and lighting (cloudy vs. sunny) are the biggest difference.
